Akon, the Senegalese-American singer, has said his life was “easier” when he was involved in relationships with multiple women.

The 53-year-old made the remarks during an interview with The Shade Room, where he reflected on his personal life and past relationships.

Akon, who has previously expressed support for polygamy, said: “My life was a lot easier when I had multiple women surrounding me. It is a lot harder with just one woman.”

His comments come about six months after reports that his wife of 28 years, Tomeka Thiam, filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.
