Alhaji Popping Reveals How He Survived Terrorist Gunfire in Bauchi

Nigerian singer and music executive, Tobi Mohammed, better known as Alhaji Popping, has revealed how he and fellow artiste Rayce narrowly escaped death during a terrorist attack in Bauchi State in 2017.

The music star, speaking on a recent episode of the Adesope Live show, recounted that gunmen dressed in military uniforms fired at their vehicle 10 times, leaving the car riddled with bullets. Despite the heavy gunfire, neither he nor Rayce sustained injuries.

“The bullets entered the steering, wheel, AC, even the boot, but not one touched me,” Alhaji Popping said. “That experience drew me closer to God because I realised everything that has happened to me is an expression of grace.”

He added that his mother was unaware of the near-death encounter, admitting she would have reacted with prayers had she known.

The Bauchi incident, according to the singer, remains a defining moment in his life, strengthening his faith and deepening his gratitude.
