Former Rivers State Governor and presidential hopeful under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rotimi Amaechi, says his administration restored security and economic life to Port Harcourt within six months of assuming office.

Amaechi, in a video shared on his Facebook page Thursday, recounted how criminals had overrun the city when he took over as governor, crippling businesses and shutting down social activities.

“Port Harcourt was a dead city — kidnappings everywhere, robberies unchecked, hospitals in chaos. People couldn’t even go out,” he said while addressing stakeholders. “But within six months, we flushed out the criminals, reopened the economy, and called the people back to work and normal life.”

Amaechi argued that his frontline experience in tackling insecurity sets him apart from other ADC presidential aspirants ahead of the 2027 election.

“I am the only aspirant who has governed a state that faced exactly what Nigeria is facing now — and we solved it,” he asserted.
