Amnesty International has condemned Boko Haram’s gruesome killing of 23 farmers and fishermen in Malam Karanti, Borno State. The attack, which occurred early Thursday morning, involved deliberate targeting of unarmed civilians.

In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), Amnesty described the killings as war crimes and demanded urgent investigations by Nigerian authorities. “This kind of carnage must not go unpunished,” the organization stated.

The human rights watchdog emphasized that the Nigerian government must strengthen security measures to protect civilians in insurgency-affected areas. It reiterated the call for justice and accountability for victims and their families.
