Anambra bullion van is attacked by gunmen.

On Thursday, gunmen attacked a bullion van in the hamlet of Ufuma, located in the Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State, in the southeast of Nigeria.

The event took place about 4:00.

When the assailants followed and opened fire on the bullion van and security personnel connected to the van, the van was reportedly transporting cash to an unidentified location.

The attack has been confirmed by Tochukwu Ikenga, the state’s police spokesperson.

He claimed that an armed robbery attack had occurred.

He claimed, “Police officers assigned to the bullion van gallantly resisted the onslaught.”

According to Mr. Ikenga, a deputy superintendent of police, the attackers are being sought out by the police.

He claimed that the armed robbers’ SUVs, a Lexus and a Highlander, had been found.

Other things taken from the gunmen during the raid included an empty magazine, a bulletproof vest that had been defiled, and charms, according to the police.

Attacks frequently target government personnel, security agencies, and facilities.

The unlawful Indigenous People of Biafra have been blamed by the Nigerian government for the deadly attacks in the area. However, the gang has consistently denied taking part in the attacks.

The separatist organisation is driving the movement to carve out a separate state of Biafra from the southeast and some regions of south-south Nigeria.
