Anambra Police Officer Shoots Youth Dead

A police officer attached to the Otuocha Area Command in Anambra East, Anambra State, fatally shot a local youth following a dispute at a checkpoint on Saturday. Sources from Aguleri reported that the altercation stemmed from a disagreement over N100, leading one officer to fire at the youth. The incident sparked outrage, with area youths staging protests in response.

The Anambra Police spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident, stating, “Inspector Sani Suleiman, the officer involved, has been disarmed and detained for investigation and disciplinary action.”
