Anthony Joshua Injured as Lagos–Ibadan Expressway Crash Claims Two Lives

Renowned global boxing star Anthony Joshua was injured on Monday following a road accident in Makun, Ogun State, along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway.

The crash occurred on a busy stretch of the highway, just before Danco Filling Station in Makun, near the Sagamu Interchange on the Ibadan-bound axis.

Reports indicate that the vehicle conveying Joshua collided with another car under circumstances that are yet to be fully established. While the boxer sustained minor injuries, two persons reportedly died on the spot.

Efforts to reach the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) Commandant, Akinbiyi Babatunde, for further details proved unsuccessful, as calls to his line did not connect as of the time of filing this report.

However, the Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi, confirmed the incident, noting that investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
