Manchester United winger Anthony Martial will sign a new deal to remain at the club, only if his next deal outlasts Jose Mourinho, according to reports.
The Frenchman has failed to nail a starting spot under Mourinho due to the the manager’s preference to start other options on the flanks leaving Martial on the bench most times.
It is understood that Mourinho feels Martial does not have not a place in his plans, deeming him unfit to play under his coaching style, but the United’s executive Ed Woodward has remained adamant that the player will not be leaving the club anytime soon and has even offered him the opportunity to remain at the Old Trafford in the near future, offering him a new deal that will see him stay beyond 2020.
However, reports in the Times claim that Anthony Martial is seriously considering his future at the club and does not want to remain under the tutelage of Jose Mourinho, and will only sign a new deal if the contract outlast the manager.
There are reports that the new deal could worth 130,000 pounds per week, surpassing his current 90,000 pounds per week. Jose Mourinho, whose future at the Old Trafford is in serious doubt due to his side’s poor start to the season, has publicly criticised Martial’s performances and will not stand in his way if he decides to leave in the near future.
