-Ganduje Steps Down as APC National Chairman Amid Unconfirmed Health Concerns
–APC Chieftain Names Bukar Dalori as Acting Chairman Pending Convention
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ayekooto Akindele, has revealed that Bukar Dalori, the party’s Deputy National Chairman (North), will step in as the Acting National Chairman following the resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje.
Ganduje officially resigned on Friday from his position as the National Chairman of the ruling party. Although the APC is yet to issue an official statement on the development, multiple sources suggest his resignation may be connected to undisclosed health challenges.
In a post on his verified Facebook page, Akindele declared:
“Acting National Chairman of the APC, Ali Bukar Dalori.”
The APC National Working Committee (NWC) has yet to confirm the leadership change. However, the move has sparked widespread speculation about the party’s internal dynamics and its roadmap toward the 2025 National Convention.
Bashir Ahmad, a former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, also weighed in on the succession. He said one of the party’s national vice chairmen will temporarily steer the party’s affairs until a new chairman is elected during the APC National Convention scheduled for December 2025.
Dalori, who currently serves as Deputy National Chairman (North), is expected to take charge in an acting capacity, ensuring continuity and stability as the APC prepares for internal restructuring ahead of upcoming national elections.
Ganduje’s exit marks a significant shift in the APC’s leadership landscape, and political watchers believe the party’s next moves could determine its strength going into future electoral contests.
