The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has officially announced the upcoming local government elections, set to take place across 20 Local Government Councils and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in 2025. This declaration was made to address mounting speculation and public inquiries regarding the election timeline.
Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, the Lagos State APC Chairman, emphasized the vital role played by the LCDAs in fostering grassroots development and ensuring the efficient delivery of government services. “The contributions of the LCDAs to infrastructural growth, education, health services, and waste management remain indispensable,” Ojelabi noted.
The APC reaffirmed its commitment to leveraging these elections to consolidate socio-economic development and deepen democratic practices within Lagos State. Party members and the general public were urged to continue fostering peace and unity to maintain Lagos’ position as a leading state in the federation.
This announcement brings clarity to the political calendar, setting the stage for robust preparations for the 2025 local government elections.
