The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has expressed strong confidence in the re-election prospects of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that ongoing economic reforms are laying a solid foundation for Nigeria’s long-term growth and stability.
Mr Adelabu made this known while speaking at the national convention of the All Progressives Congress held at Eagle Square, where party leaders and stakeholders gathered to deliberate on the party’s future direction.
The minister described the APC as a united and formidable political platform, noting that its growing membership base and internal cohesion position it strongly ahead of the 2027 general elections. According to him, the party’s strength lies not just in numbers but in its shared commitment to governance and national development.
He attributed the growing confidence within the party to what he described as deliberate and strategic economic reforms introduced by the Tinubu administration, aimed at repositioning Nigeria’s economy and addressing long-standing structural challenges.
Mr Adelabu said the administration has made significant progress within its first years in office, noting that the current economic direction has restored momentum and renewed hope across critical sectors of the economy. He added that policy decisions taken so far are gradually stabilising the system and rebuilding investor confidence.
The minister stressed that while the reforms may take time to yield their full benefits, they are already setting the stage for sustainable development and long-term prosperity.
“What we need is sustained leadership to consolidate the gains already recorded,” he said, emphasising that continuity in governance is essential for the success of ongoing policies.
He maintained that the President has not disappointed Nigerians, insisting that the groundwork laid so far is only the beginning of broader transformation plans aimed at repositioning the country economically and structurally.
Looking ahead, Mr Adelabu projected that Nigeria would witness significant progress by the end of a second term under Mr Tinubu, noting that the full implementation of current policies would lead to unprecedented growth and stability.
He urged party members and supporters to remain committed to the administration’s vision, describing the reforms as “foundational” to achieving lasting economic stability and national development.
