-APC Sets Date for Crucial NEC Meeting Amid Leadership Change
Ali Dalori Steps In as Acting Chairman After Ganduje’s Resignation

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially scheduled its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting for Wednesday, July 24, 2025, following a major shake-up in its national leadership.

This was revealed by the party’s Deputy National Secretary, Barr. Festus Fuanter, after the National Working Committee (NWC) met in Abuja on Monday, June 30.

The meeting comes days after Dr. Umar Abdullahi Ganduje resigned from his position as National Chairman of the party. His resignation, which took place last Friday, marked a significant turn in the APC’s internal affairs.

In his place, the party appointed Ali Bukar Dalori, the former Borno State APC Chairman, to serve as Acting National Chairman pending further decisions by the NEC.

Fuanter, addressing journalists at the party’s national secretariat, confirmed the upcoming NEC session, saying it would address “critical matters affecting the party’s structure, direction, and national unity.”

“The NEC meeting will be held on July 24. We expect all key stakeholders and party leaders to be in attendance,” he said.

The upcoming meeting is expected to deliberate on issues including ratification of Dalori’s appointment, strategy for the 2027 general elections, and steps to strengthen internal democracy within the ruling party.

The APC’s leadership change has stirred reactions among party faithful and observers, with many viewing the transition as a chance to revive party discipline and reposition the APC ahead of the next electoral cycle.
