In a recent post on X, former Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, shared that he met with Sikiru Olaboye, one of the individuals responsible for an assassination attempt on his life during the 2006 Oroki Day celebration in Osogbo. Aregbesola revealed that Olaboye had called into a local radio station weeks prior to seek his forgiveness.
Aregbesola affirmed that he holds no ill will toward Olaboye or anyone else involved in the attack, emphasizing that he has neither harbored resentment nor sought revenge after surviving the ordeal. He expressed his belief that only God has the ultimate power to forgive, and offered prayers for forgiveness for both himself and Olaboye.
