Arrested is a couple that specialized in kidnapping and trafficking minors to Burkina Faso.

Police officers in Ogun State have allegedly detained Godday & Ebere Samuel, a Nigerian couple, for human trafficking. According to the News Agency of Nigeria, they were taken into custody on October 17, 2022, at Atan in the State’s Ota region.

The suspects were detained as a result of a report made at the Atan Ota Divisional Police Headquarters by one Adeniji Okikiolu, who stated that his 16-year-old daughter, Maria Adeniji, abruptly vanished from home on October 16 in a statement released on October 31 by the command’s spokesperson, SP Oyeyemi.

He continued by saying that although a search party was formed to seek for her, Ebere was invited to the station after receiving the information, but she fiercely denied ever having seen the missing girl on or before that day.

According to preliminary inquiry, the pair has been involved in human trafficking for some time, and their collaborators are from Burkina Faso. Oyeyemi remarked
