Arsenal announced the signing of Dutch international midfielder Victoria Pelova from Ajax Amsterdam on Friday.
The 23-year-old arrives in North London after making 66 appearances for Ajax and scoring 11 goals since joining from ADO Den Haag in 2019.
“I’m overjoyed to have joined Arsenal. “I’ve always admired this club and aspired to be like some of the great Dutch players who have worn the shirt,” Pelova said in a statement.
Pelova has made 31 appearances for the Netherlands and was instrumental in their run to the 2019 World Cup final, where they were defeated by the United States. She was also a member of the squad that advanced to the European Championship quarterfinals last year.
“We’ve signed Victoria, which is fantastic news. “I believe she is one of the game’s most exciting young players,” Arsenal coach Jonas Eidevall said.
Arsenal is second in the league standings and has qualified for the Women’s Champions League quarterfinals, which will be drawn next month.
