AS THEY ARE ARRAIGNED FOR LAND FRA¥D, A COUPLE IS SEEN HOLDING HANDS.

Judge M.G. Umar of the Federal High Court in Enugu has arraigned Mr. Udeani Simon Sunday and his wife, Udeani Dorcas Amaka, on behalf of the EFCC’s Enugu Zonal Command.

They were charged with three counts of false pretense involving an alleged land swindle, for which they were arrested.

The following was one of the charges against the Udeanis: “That you, Udeani Simon Sunday & Udeani Dorcas Amaka, within the jurisdiction of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, between July 10, 2019 and December 19, 2019 in Enugu, Enugu State, with intent to defraud, induced one Onugu Angela Chinyere to deliver to you the sum of N2,750,000 under the pretense that you would sell to her a plot of land, which pretense you knew to be false.”

As soon as they entered a not guilty plea, the defense attorney requested bail, and Nurudeen Ingawa, the prosecutor, asked the court to set a trial date.
