**Al-Ahli Maintains Perfect Start in Asian Champions League

Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ahli continued its flawless performance in the Asian Champions League on Monday, securing a 2-0 victory over Al-Wasl, thanks to goals from Riyad Mahrez and Roger Ibanez.

Match Highlights

Mahrez opened the scoring just three minutes into the match in Dubai, skillfully controlling a pass from Ibanez. Seven minutes before halftime, the roles reversed as Ibanez doubled the lead, solidifying Al-Ahli’s dominance.

With this win, Al-Ahli now sits at six points from two matches in the western half of the draw, following their earlier victory against Iran’s Persepolis two weeks ago.

Al-Sadd’s Victory

In another match, Qatar’s Al-Sadd claimed their first win of the tournament by defeating Iran’s Esteghlal 2-0. A crucial mistake by Esteghlal’s goalkeeper, Hossein Hosseini, five minutes before halftime allowed Al-Sadd to take the lead. Akram Afif later secured the win with a penalty in the 68th minute.

The second round of league matches continues on Tuesday, with Al-Ain traveling to Qatar to face Al-Gharafa, while four-time continental champions Al-Hilal from Saudi Arabia will host Al-Shorta.
