In the upcoming presidential election on February 25, President Bola Tinubu promises to treat his rivals with respect.

In order to become the next president, Tinubu defeated Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Atiku Abubakar of the PDP.

On May 29 in Eagle Square in Abuja, he took the oath of office as the 16th president of Nigeria.

The president declared in his inauguration address that his victory did not make him more Nigerian than the other citizens. Furthermore, it does not make my opponents any less Nigerian than I am.

I shall see Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar, my rivals, as significant compatriots. Despite the fact that I am not a more Nigerian than my opponent, the outcome reflected the will of the people.

They will always be considered my fellow citizens, and I will treat them accordingly. They speak for significant constituencies and issues, and their judgment should not be disregarded. Some people have gone to court to seek legal recourse for their complaints.
