Asiwaji Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for president, has urged Atiku Abubakar, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for president, to take a break and cease running for office.
The elderly man’s commitment to tackling the lack of infrastructure in the riverine communities of the Niger Delta was simply reiterated at this time.
On Friday, Tinubu assured the residents of the Gbaramatu Kingdom in the Delta region’s Warri South-West Local Government Area.
Oboro Gbaraun 11 (Aketekpe Agadagba) Pere of Gbaramatu, the king of the Gbaramatu Kingdom, entertained the previous governor of Lagos State and his entourage.
At the Pavilion in Oporoza, the Gbaramatu Kingdom’s administrative center, Tinubu addressed the throng.
When elected president of Nigeria, the APC presidential candidate claimed he would not be far from the inhabitants of the Gbaramatu Kingdom, adding that they would be brought along.
Atiku has been running, so he should go relax, says Tinubu in Gbaramatu.
The Nigerian Maritime University (NMU) and the industrial park were mentioned, along with the roadways and sea ports. I gave you my word that all of these things would be taken care of.
“As promised, we won’t be too far away from you; we’ll guide you and constantly consult with you; we’ll cheer you on and honor our commitments.
We will accept them for the growth of the region, the community of Gbaramatu, and other connected villages, he said.
Please be aware of the risks posed by the destruction of petroleum infrastructure and pipelines. They are harmful to the fish, our health, and all of your activities, he declared.
Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege, the APC candidate for governor of Delta, also spoke. He identified the absence of access routes to the mainland as one of the biggest issues facing the Gbaramatu Kingdom and pledged to address it if elected.
“I make reference to the monarch when he stated that getting to the hinterland was the biggest issue they faced and that the kingdom needed to be connected to the mainland.
“It is urged that, by the grace of God, I work with Tinubu as the new governor and president.
“I am aware of the NMU’s full implementation issue in this kingdom.
“We are aware of the difficulties, and I have worked with the National Assembly to address those difficulties in dealing with the enabling framework.
“The enabling framework will be passed and made law by President Muhammadu Buhari before the election.
In our response to NIMASA, “We are also tackling the financing difficulties,” he declared.
In the upcoming general elections, Omo-Agege asked the populace to support every APC candidate.
The ruler of the Gbaramatu Kingdom had already bestowed chieftaincy titles on Tinubu and a few members of his retinue.
Omo-Agege was given the title of “Ebeikiowei” of Gbaramatu Kingdom, which means “one who recalls the kingdom,” while Tinubu was given the title of “Eyeilaowei” of Gbaramatu Kingdom, which means “man of high esteem.”
Timipre Sylva, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, and Festus Keyamo, Minister of State for Labor and Employment, were also recipients of chieftaincy titles.
Mai Buni, the governor of Yobe, and Abdullahi Ganduje, the governor of Kano State, were among the others.
