Following a gunman attack in the Andaza Community in the Kiyawa Local Government Area, the police in Jigawa State on Tuesday reported the kidnapping of two people.

Two additional residents were shot during the incident on Monday, according to the state’s police commissioner, Emmanuel Effiom.

According to locals, the kidnappers, who were armed with automatic rifles, struck the town after midnight and went right to the home of their intended victim, a doctor.

Gunmen broke into Husseini Yakubu’s home in the Kiyawa Local Government area’s Andaza village at 2:43 on Monday and kidnapped his mother and daughter, according to Mr. Effiom.

The victims were named as 15-year-old Aisha Shehu and 50-year-old Khadija Yakubu by the police chief. He claimed that their kidnapping occurred nearby.

Musa Dahiru and Sani Nuhu, according to Mr. Effiom, were shot in the hands and legs, respectively. They were taken urgently to a hospital in the Andaza neighborhood.

“Police, upon receiving (receiving) the information, hurried to the scene of the crime; they did not find any vehicles there, so they followed their footsteps, which led them to a bush; there, they learned that the abductors had arrived on motorbikes, where they had taken their victims and escaped.

The commissioner stated that efforts are being undertaken to rescue the victims unharmed.

Agression in Kiyawa
The police also acknowledged that the southwest senatorial zone of the state’s Kiyawa Local Government is evolving into a hub of criminal activity.

According to the police commissioner, a comparable occurrence occurred in the council area last month. However, he said that those responsible for the incident had been detained.

The final suspect in the earlier incident was detained on Monday in Lagos State. To face the law, he is being taken to Jigawa, the man stated.

In the same Kiyawa Local Government Area, according to Mr. Effiom, a robbery was reported last month, and the culprits were also apprehended.
He urged the locals to exercise caution and alert the state’s law enforcement officials to any questionable person or persons.
