The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) spokesperson, Simon Ekpa, has been detained by Finland’s National Bureau of Investigation.

Recall that Simon Ekpa, a member of the National Coalition Party and a local Lahti city councilor, used social media to urge millions of people to abstain from voting in the upcoming general elections in Nigeria, which will take place from February 23 to 28.

The separatist organisation IPOB, which is pushing for the separation of Biafra in southeast Nigeria, has Ekpa as its spokesperson.

According to the Lahti newspaper Etelä-Suomen Sanomat, Ekpa “does not conceal his involvement in the assassination of government figures.

“Even more, he runs the operation and gets the weaponry.

Fearing that Ekpa’s activities would thwart the smooth conduct of the general elections in 2023, the FG urged Finland to take action.
