On Sunday, traditional leaders from Awori land in Lagos organized a prayer meeting for the success of Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate, and Governor Babajide Sanwo-bid Olu’s for reelection in the 2023 election.

Cornelius Ojelabi, the APC Chairman in Lagos State, addressed the traditional leaders and expressed his pride and joy at being of Awori ancestry.

“Watch my fathers, my traditional leaders, unite to demonstrate that special zeal for backing our presidential candidate, not to mention our gubernatorial candidate.

“Honestly, I am thrilled to be a part of this family as we come together to pray for the success of the APC in the upcoming elections.

“You will know that God will answer our prayers if you look at the number of traditional leaders who have assembled here to pray for Tinubu and Sanwo-victory Olu’s in the upcoming election.

“You can be confident that the request will be answered when traditional authorities gather together to give prayer to God because they are close to God, according to our belief,” he stated.

Mr. Ojelabi praised Tijani Akinloye, the Ojomu of Ajiranland, Eti-Osa, the chairman of the Awori obas, for bringing all the traditional chiefs of Awori land under the APC banner.

“I would like to express my gratitude to Oba Akinloye for his support of the progressives. Akinloye has united the Awori kings and made sure that they are all in favor of the APC.

I am there to represent you and to protect your interests, I want to assure you, he said.

Additionally, Mr. Akinloye encouraged all the Awori traditional rulers to organize special prayers in their communities for the election of all APC candidates in Lagos.

He claimed that because of the advancements Messrs. Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu had brought to Awori and Lagos in general, the traditional leaders in Awori territory had shown their support for them.

Sulaiman Raji, the Oniba Ekun of Iba Land, asked the traditional heads of state to support Sanwo-Olu and the APC presidential candidate in the upcoming election.

The Chairman of the Ikotun-Igando LCDA, Akinsanya Lasisi, stated that Messrs. Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu had done a lot for the Awori people in Lagos and that the traditional leaders were supporting their work.

“Whom much is given, much is demanded; this is precisely what guided today’s prayer.

This is only to reassure them that they have the support of all Awori natives, both at home and abroad, he stated.

According to NAN, Moruf Balogun, the chief imam of Ikotun, and other groups of imams from the state led the special prayer.

Musiliu Obanikoro, a former minister of state for defense, and other APC leaders from the state are said to have attended the special prayer, according to NAN.
