Nigerian Afrobeats star Ayra Starr has revealed that Burna Boy tops her wishlist for future collaborations, as she reflects on earning her second Grammy nomination.

The singer made the disclosure during a Billboard interview with Love Island USA star Chelley Bissainthe, shared in the buildup to the 2026 Grammy Awards. Speaking candidly, Ayra Starr described the nomination as a defining moment that has strengthened her confidence and self-belief.

She said the experience felt different from her first Grammy nod, noting that while the initial recognition left her overwhelmed, the second has brought reassurance and clarity about her growth as an artist.

“I am very grateful that I’m actually a two-time Grammy nominee. The first time I got nominated, it was like, oh my God, I got nominated. But the second time, I was like maybe I need to trust God and myself a bit more,” she said.

Ayra Starr added that although she has worked with several artists and remains open to more collaborations, Burna Boy remains her top choice. According to her, the Grammy-winning superstar is the one artist she most desires to work with.

The nomination came in the category of Best African Music Performance for Gimme Dat, her collaboration with Wizkid, released in April 2025. The 2026 Grammy nominations were announced in November 2025, ahead of the awards ceremony scheduled for February 1, 2026.

Reacting to the honour, Ayra Starr described the recognition as a powerful reassurance in her career, reinforcing her belief in her artistry and global impact.
