Following a rise of kidnapping and other types of criminality in the areas, the Zamfara State government has declared the complete lockdown of Anka, Bukkuyum, and Gummi local government areas of the state.

Yarkofoji, Birnin Tudu, Rini, Gora Namaye, Janbako, Faru, Kaya, Boko, and Mada are the nine towns and villages impacted by the government action.

The announcement was made in a statement released on Friday by Ibrahim Dosara, the commissioner for information.
All movements will now be prohibited in the aforementioned local governments and localities, according to the statement. Anyone caught breaking the limitation order will face merciless punishment, according to instructions given to security officers.

“At this point, the government has determined that it is necessary to enact some strict regulations that could unintentionally harm everyone.

“However, the restrictions are intended to rein in the bandits’ most recent excesses with the ultimate goal of weakening their ability to assault our towns.

Additionally, the government proposed closing the marketplaces in Danjibga and Bagega.

The following roads were also shut down by the government till further notice: Gusau-Magami Road, ColonyLambar-Boko Road, BakuraLambar-Damri Road, Mayanchi-Daki Takwas-Gummi Road, Daki Takwas-Zuru Road, Kucheri-Bawaganga-Wanke Road, and Magami-Dangulbi Road.

These steps are being done to make it easier and provide our valiant security personnel the ability to carry out their duties without interference.

Security officers are hereby instructed to deal severely with anyone discovered disobeying these orders, according to this notification.

“Government truly regrets any trouble these actions may have caused to the general population.”

The executive governor of Zamfara State, Honourable Dr. Bello Muhammad, MON (Matawallen Maradun), has ordered the immediate suspension of all APC meetings and activities as part of his government’s concern and sympathy in this direction, the state government added. Stakeholders invited to the APC stakeholders meeting on Friday, October 14, 2022 are thus urged to wait for a new date. We regret any troubles we may have caused.
