Alhaji Ibrahim Ma’aji, the special adviser on political matters to Governor Bello Mattawale of Zamfara state, has been abducted in Gusau, the state’s capital, by suspected armed bandits.

Early on Saturday morning, in the Mareri neighborhood of the Gusau metropolis, it was reported that the heavily armed bandits broke into the Special Adviser’s home.

Ibrahim Maaji, the oldest son of the kidnapped victim, was taken into custody in the state, according to a reliable family source, Lukman Ibrahim.

Lukman said that when gunmen broke through the barrier of their compound, his father was inside his flat.

“I was in my room when I realized that someone had leaped into our compound. I immediately came out to see, but I was stopped by gunmen, who demanded that I take them to my father’s apartment before they took my father to an unidentified location.”

According to him, the incident was reported to the police as soon as possible so that they could act quickly in the state.

When called, SP Mohammed Shehu, the public relations officer for the Zamfara state police command, could not be reached since his GSM lines had been turned off as of the time this story was filed.

Humphreys County administrator Woodrow Johnson told CNN that when his wife woke him up, they heard what they thought was a train.
