Bandits have released Ahmed Abubakar Zakka, his wife and their six-month-old daughter after abducting the family in Millennium City, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The family’s release comes days after a video surfaced showing Zakka appealing for public help while holding his crying infant daughter. Their captors had reportedly demanded a ₦300 million ransom for their freedom.

The incident occurred on 6 October 2026, when armed men invaded Alrahus Estate in Millennium City. The bandits reportedly moved from house to house in search of victims before abducting Zakka, his wife and their young daughter.

The video of the father holding his distressed baby drew attention to the family’s plight, as he appealed for assistance while the kidnappers demanded payment for their release.

However, details surrounding the family’s freedom remain unclear. As of the time of filing this report, it was not known whether a ransom was paid or how the family secured their release.

The incident adds to concerns over kidnapping in Kaduna State, where residents in affected communities face the threat of attacks and abductions.

Further information about the circumstances of the family’s release is expected as more details emerge.
