On Sunday, Barcelona rallied to defeat Villarreal 4-3, with LaLiga’s leading scorer from the previous season, Robert Lewandowski, scoring the game-winning goal late in the second half.
With goals from Gavi and Frenkie De Jong two minutes apart, Barca jumped out to an early two-goal lead. However, the home team rallied with goals from Juan Foyth, Alexander Sorloth, and Alex Baena in the first half, as well as one from Alex Baena five minutes after the interval.
Ferran Torres, a Barca substitute, scored a close-range goal to tie the game once more in the 68th minute, and Lewandowski later scored on a rebound off the post to give his team a tense victory.
This season, Barca has won twice in its last three games. With seven points, it is tied with Girona for third place in the LaLiga standings, two points behind leader Real Madrid.
