Nuhu Usman, a 40-year-old resident of Dangarga Village in the Burra District of the Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State, is accused of using a dane gun to kill one of his two wives.

In a media statement made available to journalists on Friday, Ahmed Wakil, the police public relations officer for the Bauchi State Command, stated that the victim was taken to the hospital where a doctor declared her dead.

According to reports, the suspect thought his eldest son, who harbored resentment toward him, would visit his room to harm him, so he loaded his local gun and kept it by his side while he slept.

Usman was sleeping with his wife when she went to the restroom. When she returned to the room, he thought it was his son who had come in to attack him, so he took his gun and shot her in the stomach.
