Security has been stepped up in several areas of the state capital in preparation for President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari’s (retd.) visit to Kano to officially open eight development projects.

According to The News Agency of Nigeria, security officers from the state’s road traffic agency, the police, the civil defense corps, and the federal road safety corps were drafted as early as 7 am.

The security personnel were stationed along a number of roadways, including Audu Bako Way, Ahmadu Bello Way, Emir’s Palace, and Sabo Bakin Zuwo, formerly known as State Road.

The state’s commissioner for information and internal affairs, Malam Muhammad Garba, said in a statement on Sunday that plans had been made to welcome the President.

Garba said the President and his entourage would be greeted by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

While in Kano, Buhari would open the multi-billion naira Dala Inland Dry Port in Zawachiki, Kumbotso Local Government Area, and the 10 megawatt Kano Grid Solar Power project of the Federal Government.

Additionally, he stated that Buhari would inaugurate the Tier Data Center, an office building, and the Kano State Data Centre at the Audu Bako Secretariat on Ahmadu Bello Way.
The Aliko Dangote Ultra-Modern Skill Acquisition Centre, Zaria Road, the Muhammadu Buhari Road Rotary Interchange at the NNPC Station, on Maiduguri Road, the Federal Government Housing Units at Gandun Sarki, Darmanawa, and the Muhammadu Buhari Specialist Hospital’s Cancer Treatment Center are the others.
