The Football Association (FA) has announced that it will investigate allegations involving Preston North End forward Milutin Osmajic, who is accused of biting Blackburn Rovers defender Owen Beck during their Championship match on Sunday. This incident reportedly occurred during a confrontation after Beck, on loan from Liverpool, was sent off in the 89th minute for kicking an opponent in the goalless draw.

Following the altercation, Osmajic received a yellow card. Blackburn’s head coach, John Eustace, expressed concern, stating, “He’s got a big bite mark on the back of his neck. It’s a very serious incident; nobody likes to be bitten. Everyone is angry about it.” He emphasized that it is an unpleasant situation and expects appropriate action to be taken.

The FA confirmed in an email that they are aware of the incident and will look into it further. Meanwhile, Preston manager Paul Heckingbottom remarked that he had not witnessed the incident but condemned any form of violence, stating, “There is no place for that… Mistimed tackles are part and parcel of the game, but anything beyond that is dealt with appropriately.”

This incident brings to mind past cases, such as the 2013 FA ban on Luis Suarez for 10 matches after he bit Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic.
