The granddaughter of legendary music legend Bob Marley has come under fire for donning apparel with the slogan “White Lives Matter,” which was coined by rapper Kanye West.

Selah Marley, the granddaughter of Bob Marley and the daughter of musician Lauryn Hill, chose to help Kanye launch his new clothing brand at the YZY fashion show.
The slogan “White Lives Matter” has been linked to the Ku Klux Klan and makes fun of the well-known “Black Lives Matter” movement, which advocates for racial equality, particularly in the USA but also abroad.

The fashion show was a last-minute surprise, and Kanye was wearing a black sweatshirt with the words “Lives Matter” written in white across it.

After George Zimmerman killed Trayvon Martin in 2013, the “Black Lives Matter” movement was launched, and models at the rapper’s fashion presentation also wore apparel with the slogan emblazoned on them.

Selah posted a video of herself interacting and having fun with West at the event. In the video, Selah can be seen wearing a “White Lives Matter” shirt.

Three videos of Selah wearing the divisive item were posted, each with the caption “Love you Kanye West.”

Beyonce’s Ivy Park SS17 fitness line previously featured the model, who is signed to NEXT Models.

In 2017, she named Kanye West as one of her role models.
