Ivorian artist Débordo Leekunfa has set a new YouTube record, surpassing Nigerian singer Asake’s previous mark for the most-viewed African music video in a single day. Leekunfa’s latest video, “Djeneba Djaba,” amassed over 3 million views in under 23 hours, igniting a wave of support from his fans after a dispute with Cameroonian artist Maahlox.

The disagreement started after Maahlox criticized Leekunfa, prompting Ivorian fans to rally in support of their favorite singer by streaming his video en masse. Despite Maahlox’s accusations of view manipulation, Leekunfa’s achievement underscores the influence of fan loyalty in the digital age.
