“Breaking News: Gunmen Abduct Kogi Caretaker Committee Chairman!”

Zacheous Dare Michael, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Kabba Bunu Local Government Area in Kogi State, has reportedly been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.

Michael, who is running for the chairmanship of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming Kogi State Council elections scheduled for October 19, 2024, was abducted on Friday evening. The incident occurred along the Kabba-Okene expressway while he was returning from a meeting in Lokoja.

According to a security source speaking with Daily Post, the heavily armed kidnappers fired randomly at Michael’s vehicle before capturing him and members of his entourage.

A post on the Owe Political Platform’s WhatsApp group confirmed the kidnapping and urged members to pray for the safe return of Michael and his aides, including Bank Andrew. The post also appealed for any credible information that could aid in their rescue, asking those with such information to contact the police and seeking divine intervention for their safe release.

As of now, SP William Ovye Aya, the Public Relations Officer of the Kogi State Police Command, has not yet released a statement regarding the incident.
