The Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia has made an announcement stating that Wednesday, April 10th, will signify the start of the month of Shawwal, thus concluding the holy month of Ramadan for this year, 1445 AH.

This date was established after no one reported sighting of the new moon, which traditionally marks the end of Ramadan fasting, in any part of the country.

This development was officially announced on Monday, with Saudi Arabia extending the fasting period to 30 days, designating Tuesday, April 9th, as the final day of Ramadan.

The initial sighting of the crescent moon is what determines the beginning of Shawwal, which in turn signifies the start of Eid-ul-Fitr.

It is noteworthy that Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) commenced their observance of Ramadan on Monday, March 11th.
