The incident, which took place at approximately 6:30 AM, has resulted in the deaths of ten (10)people, including four (4) children, with eight (8) others injured.
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command confirmed the fatalities and extended their condolences to the victims’ families. Among the injured, four (4) individuals have been treated and discharged, while the remaining victims continue to receive medical attention.
In response to the incident, the FCT Police Command is urging all organizations, religious bodies, and individuals planning public gatherings or charitable events to notify the police in advance. This is part of a new directive aimed at ensuring safety measures and preventing future tragedies.
The police further emphasized that failure to comply with this notification requirement would hold event organizers accountable for any resulting harm.
