In the appeal Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf filed to contest his removal by the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal, the Court of Appeal in Abuja has deferred rendering a decision.

Nasiru Gawuna, the opponent of Yusuf’s All Progressives Congress (APC), was proclaimed the election’s victor by the tribunal, which delivered its ruling via Zoom.

Because the ballot papers were not signed or stamped by the Independent National Electoral Commission, the tribunal determined that 165,663 of Yusuf’s votes were illegitimate.

After rejecting the decision, Yusuf made his way to the appeals court.

The appeal court postponed making a decision in the matter until Monday.
