Human rights activist Annkio Briggs has accused the immediate past sole administrator of Rivers State, Ibok-Ete Ibas, of mismanaging state funds and demanded that he explain how the money was spent.

Briggs made the allegation during an appearance on Sunday Politics, a Channels Television programme, where she insisted that Ibas cannot walk away without accountability.

“He spent our money. He has to account to the people of Rivers State, even to Nigerians, for the sake of integrity, justice, and fairness,” she declared.

According to her, Ibas controlled state resources for six months and left without providing transparency. “You can’t come into a state, get hold of all their resources and funds, stay there for six months, and just walk away as if you were never there. Within that period, he spent our money—that’s the truth. It is our money,” she stressed.

Her remarks have renewed public calls for a probe into Ibas’ short tenure and the use of state funds.
