Brighton & Hove Albion delivered a commanding display to beat Chelsea 3-0 in the Premier League, piling pressure on the struggling London side. The victory lifts Brighton to sixth place with 50 points, moving them above Chelsea, who now face a serious battle to secure European football next season.

The match started at a high tempo as Ferdi Kadioglu opened the scoring in just the third minute, finishing neatly from a corner. Brighton controlled the early stages and nearly doubled their lead when a poor pass from Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez fell to Carlos Baleba, but Jack Hinshelwood saw his effort cleared by Trevoh Chalobah.

Chelsea struggled throughout the first half and failed to register a shot on target. Manager Liam Rosenior made changes at the break, introducing Alejandro Garnacho, who quickly created a chance for Romeo Lavia, but the effort went over the bar.

Any hope of a comeback faded when Hinshelwood made amends for his earlier miss. He finished a sharp counterattack in the 56th minute after a pass from Georginio Rutter, extending Brighton’s lead. With Chelsea still lacking cutting edge, substitute Danny Welbeck added a late third goal to seal the result.

The defeat marks Chelsea’s fifth consecutive league loss without scoring, deepening concerns over their poor form. Meanwhile, Brighton & Hove Albion continue to push strongly for a European place.

Can Chelsea recover in time to save their season after this heavy Brighton vs Chelsea defeat?
