During the high-stakes Premier League encounter on Sunday, the Portuguese playmaker orchestrated the offense, providing two crucial assists that propelled his side to a comfortable win and secured him a prestigious individual milestone.

He wasn’t finished there; ten minutes after the hour mark, he turned provider again, setting up Matheus Cunha for the team’s second goal of the afternoon. In doing so, Fernandes surpassed the legendary David Beckham, whose previous club record of 15 assists had stood since the historic 1999-2000 campaign. By overtaking icons like Nani and Antonio Valencia, the United captain has set a new benchmark for creativity at Old Trafford. While he now holds the crown for the most assists in a single season for the Red Devils, he is also climbing the all-time league rankings. His current tally of 16 matches the personal best of Eric Cantona, though the Frenchman achieved his feat across two clubs back in 1993.

Currently, Fernandes sits 13th on the all-time Premier League single-season list, trailing the joint record of 20 assists held by Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne. With his current form, the midfielder is proving to be the primary engine of the United attack, solidifying his status as one of the most prolific creators the English top flight has ever seen.
