BUHARI: OLD N200 IS STILL LEGAL CASH BUT N500 AND N1000 ARE NO LONGER IN USE.

The old N200 notes have been given the go-ahead to be reinstated as legal money by President Muhammadu Buhari.

On Thursday morning, he announced this in a national broadcast.

“From February 10 until April 20, when the old N200 note no longer qualifies as legal money, I have approved to the CBN that the old N200 note be accepted alongside the new N200 notes.

The old N500 and N1,000 notes can still be redeemed at any CBN branch, nonetheless.

Buhari stated, “I have also requested CBN to make the fresh notes available to Nigerians through the banks.
