Former President Muhammadu Buhari has disclosed a significant improvement in his health since stepping down from office on May 29, 2023.

Buhari, who was often in the spotlight for medical trips abroad during his presidency, noted that he feels healthier and looks better now that he has left the demanding role of leading Nigeria.

Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held at the Katsina State Government House, Buhari hinted at the toll the presidency took on his well-being.

“Those outside the corridors of power do not grasp the complexities and challenges facing Nigeria,” he remarked.

Reflecting on his post-office life, he added, “My health has improved since leaving office. Visitors have told me I appear healthier than before.”

Buhari served two terms as Nigeria’s president before handing over the reins to his successor, Bola Tinubu.
