The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has imposed new compulsory information requirements for all Business Name Online Update applications, directing proprietors to submit full personal and contact details before their requests can be processed.

In a notice tagged “Important Notice for Business Name Update” released on its official X handle on Wednesday, the Commission declared that effective immediately, every update request must contain the following details:

  • Date of Birth

  • Registered Office Email

  • Proprietor’s Email

  • Phone Number for Registered Address or Proprietor (if different)

  • Valid Means of Identification

CAC stressed that the update is designed to speed up verification and eliminate delays in processing business credentials. It urged proprietors to comply promptly to avoid disruptions, adding that the enhanced data requirement will strengthen its record management and digital compliance process.
