  • Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark suffered a groin injury late in Tuesday’s win over the Connecticut Sun.

  • Clark showed visible discomfort and emotion after the incident, leaving her All-Star participation uncertain.

  • She’s scheduled to play New York on Wednesday and compete in the All-Star 3-point contest and game this weekend.

  • Clark has already missed multiple games this season due to quad and groin issues.

  • Fever head coach Stephanie White said Clark is under evaluation, with updates expected soon.

Caitlin Clark’s status is uncertain after the Indiana Fever guard sustained a groin injury late in Tuesday night’s 85–77 victory over the Connecticut Sun. The injury occurred with less than a minute left when Clark, after assisting on the team’s final basket, walked down the court holding her right groin. She then appeared visibly frustrated and emotional, eventually taking a seat on the bench with a towel over her head.

This latest setback adds to a string of muscle injuries that have troubled Clark during her rookie WNBA season. She missed the preseason opener with quad tightness, sat out five games in May with a quad strain, and was sidelined again in June with a groin injury that kept her out of the Commissioner’s Cup final.

The Fever cancelled their Wednesday morning shootaround in New York, where they face the Liberty in the second leg of a back-to-back. The timing is especially concerning, as Clark is scheduled to compete in the 3-point contest on Friday and captain one of the All-Star teams during the league’s marquee weekend.

“She’s being evaluated,” Fever coach Stephanie White told reporters. “We’ll see where we are… This group has played without her — we know it’ll be a challenge no matter what.”

Further updates on Clark’s condition are expected following medical evaluations and ongoing team assessments.
