The media celebrity and performer Charles Oputa, alias Charly Boy, has issued a caution that the general election of 2023 might not take place.

The country was in a free decline, according to Charly Boy, a well-known supporter of Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate.

The Area Fada claimed that the country’s significant problems, such as the dollar crisis, hunger and poverty, as well as attacks on INEC offices, made the elections impossible to take place.

In addition to these difficulties, the power brokers who have been holding the country hostage for decades, according to him, have exhibited a reluctance to hand up control to the people.

“Based on what I observe, there might not be an election in 2016. I don’t believe that those who have a firm grip on the political sphere of the country are ready to hand over control to the people.

I’ll say it again: There might not be an election in 2014. This has been my position since last year. I don’t think so given how things are going. Nigeria is falling rapidly. I’ve been saying it for years,” Charly Boy was reported as saying on Tuesday by the Daily Post.

He also criticized the Federal Government’s decision to redesign the country, claiming that it was not the answer to the problems facing the country.

According to Charly Boy, the N1,000/$1 exchange rate supports his claim that a dollar could soon be worth N1,500.

“Redesigning the Naira is not the answer. When you are not manufacturing anything and are not exporting, how can it be a solution? You assume the answer is to just keep printing money to pay your employees’ salaries.

What will happen at the end of the day, do you know? Because whoever has money today won’t have it tomorrow. Some people might think you have a lot of money if you have 5 million Naira today, but did you realize that your 5 million Naira is losing value every day?

“In 4 more months, the money will be worth $800,000.” So what’s the next step? Therefore, it appears that there may not be an election in 2016. All evidence goes to that, said Charly Boy.
