Chelsea are considering Avram Grant as a shock replacement for Antonio Conte, according to reports.

The Blues are believed to be in the market for a new manager due to the broken relationship with Conte, who has constantly hinted at his possible exit this summer.

The Italian boss is understood to be pissed with the hierarchy at Chelsea, due to the club’s structure which limits a manager’s autonomy in transfers.

Despite leading to a Premier League title in his debut season, Conte has blamed his side’s current woes on the board and looks set to leave, but wants the club to relieve him of his duties in order to get a bumper pay of £9million.

Reports in the Daily Mail have it that Chelsea are looking at former Paris Saint Germain boss Laurent Blanc, after ending their interest in Maurizio Sarri due to the latter’s controversial records.

It is now claimed that Chelsea are now looking in the direction of former boss Avram Grant who took them to the final of the Champions League in 2008.

Blues defender, Gary Cahill had earlier revealed that their manager’s future has had an impact in the way they played towards the end of the season, he said: ‘It’s been a strange season. There’s been a lot of speculation for many months now,

The season has finished, it finished on a high for us. We won a major trophy so that was great for everybody – for the fans, the players and the staff. ‘And what will be this summer will be and as players we have no influence over that and I’m sure you will get your answers to your questions in the next month or so.’
