Residents of the Ohaji Egbema and Owerri West local government areas in Imo State have expressed regret over the absence of electoral officers in their localities, which has prevented them from voting in the general election of 2023.
A couple of those who contacted with our correspondent claimed that as of 12:00 pm, INEC officers had not yet been spotted at polling places throughout the LGAs.
No INEC personnel are present in Owerri West LGA, Imo State, a Facebook user named Don Landers claimed.
Don Darlington Onyiriuka, another user, stated: “No election stuff in Haji Egbema up to date.”
Obijuru Kainjidam stated that there were “no electoral materials and officials in all the polling stations in Awarra/Ikwerede ward and Assa Obile ward.”
