The City Boy Movement has appointed aviation entrepreneur and political mobiliser Isaac Balami as an executive board member and its National Director on Special Duty.
Balami recently left the Obidient Movement and has since stepped up efforts to mobilise support groups and political associates towards the All Progressives Congress (APC). His activities point to a wider political realignment ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Director-General of the City Boy Movement, Hon. Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, and National Secretary, Hon. Tosin Odufuwa, formally presented Balami with his appointment letter alongside other board members.
Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, also confirmed the development.
The executive board serves as the movement’s highest decision-making body. It provides strategic direction and oversees the organisation’s activities.
Supporters view Balami’s appointment as significant because of his growing influence among young political groups and support organisations across Nigeria. His network is also expected to strengthen President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 campaign mobilisation in the North and Middle Belt.
Associates also describe Balami as the first Christian from Northern Nigeria to serve on the board. They believe his inclusion could improve the representation of different ethnic, religious and regional interests within the movement.
The appointment follows Balami’s increasing political activities after his reported exit from the Obidient Movement. In recent months, he has led several support groups and political platforms towards the APC as preparations for a wider national political crossover continue.
The City Boy Movement also appointed Ahmad Abdulaziz Yari, son of former Zamfara State Governor and Director-General of President Tinubu’s 2027 Presidential Campaign Council, Governor and Senator Abdul’aziz Yari, to its board.
Balami has built a profile in Nigeria’s aviation sector while also engaging in youth mobilisation and political advocacy. He served as Deputy Campaign Manager for the Obi/Datti campaign organisation in 2023.
His new position is expected to put him at the centre of the movement’s efforts to coordinate political mobilisation and expand its network across Nigeria ahead of the 2027 elections.
