The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has refuted claims that officers left a walkie-talkie in a taxi driver’s vehicle after attempting to extort him. This response follows a viral video from Brekete Family Radio, where founder Ahmed Isa described an incident involving police officers demanding ₦2000 from the driver.

FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, stated that no walkie-talkie from the command is currently missing, suggesting that the device mentioned could refer to one of three reported missing in 2023. She emphasized the importance of verifying information before making allegations and criticized the program’s anchor for not seeking clarification from the police. Adeh assured the public that all walkie-talkies in use are accounted for, urging responsible communication regarding such matters.
