Veteran Nollywood actor Clem Ohameze has launched legal action against a Facebook user, identified as Okwulora, for spreading false claims about his health and family.

The social media user alleged that the actor had suffered a stroke and was abandoned by his sons, leaving his daughter to care for him.

Reacting in a tearful video, Ohameze firmly dismissed the allegations, stressing that he does not have three sons and had never granted any interview suggesting otherwise. He decried the recurring circulation of fake news about his health, noting the emotional toll it has taken on his family.

“Ohameze said: ‘I called my friend who is a director in the DSS and I have initiated a police case. This is cybercrime. If you want cheap popularity, get it somewhere else. I will not allow some idiot to tarnish my image because they want traffic on their page.’”

The actor condemned repeated false reports about his supposed death and ill health, describing them as malicious attempts to damage his reputation. He revealed that his daughter had already come across the viral post, leaving him deeply disturbed.

“I had to call my children, and fortunately it was only my daughter who heard about it. Why would people do this to me?” he asked.

Ohameze reaffirmed his determination to pursue justice and protect his image from further damage.
