Chelsea attacking midfielder Cole Palmer has firmly played down speculation linking him with a move away from Stamford Bridge, insisting he pays no attention to transfer rumours.
The England international delivered a statement performance on Saturday, firing a superb hat-trick as Chelsea defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers 3–1 at Molineux in the Premier League. Palmer opened the scoring in the 13th minute from the penalty spot, converted another spot-kick in the 35th minute, and completed his treble just three minutes later.
After sealing his hat-trick, the 22-year-old produced his trademark “Cold” celebration before cupping his ears towards the crowd—an apparent response to outside noise surrounding his future.
Speaking after the match, Palmer brushed aside questions about a possible exit, insisting speculation does not distract him.
“Everyone loves to chat rubbish, don’t they?” he said, as quoted by Goal.
“I don’t pay a lot of attention to it. You see things. But I feel like I’ve already come from a strong position, so I don’t focus on that.”
The comments follow reports last month suggesting Palmer could return to Manchester in the summer, with Manchester United reportedly monitoring his situation.
Palmer came through the Manchester City academy and made 41 senior appearances for the club, scoring six goals and registering two assists before joining Chelsea in 2023. Since arriving in west London, he has established himself as a key figure, scoring 51 goals and providing 31 assists in 114 appearances for the Blues.
